It’s hard to believe the holidays are here and in full swing. If you’ve visited a Chevy dealership recently, you may have heard about a very special program Chevy is supporting this year and holiday season: the 2011 Pictures of Hope program. Chevy has partnered with celebrity photographer Linda Solomon on a truly inspiring initiative that helps children living in homeless shelters or coping with at-risk situations express themselves and their hopes and dreams in photographs.
Earlier this fall, the Pictures of Hope program visited the San Diego Salvation Army, where Jimmie Johnson Chevrolet provided cameras to kids who participated in a photography workshop led by Solomon. Now through Christmas, customers who purchase a new Chevy from Jimmie Johnson Chevrolet and other select dealerships nationwide will receive special holiday greeting cards made from the kids’ inspirational photos and words. San Diegans can also purchase the cards from the Salvation Army Door of Hope. Proceeds from the sale of the cards will benefit the families and children who receive services at the Salvation Army, and Jimmie Johnson Chevrolet will match that donation.
If you’re looking for a gift that gives back this holiday season, the cards can also be purchased here.
